Book 4: Bride for a Night

His wounded body, her wounded heart…

Bianca Goldsmith has known Freddie Brooks since they were kids. At eighteen she finally admitted she was in love with him, but even though he liked her, Freddie was desperate to get away from his problems at home and enlisted in the New Zealand Army, leaving a broken-hearted Bianca behind.

Eight years later Freddie finally returns to his hometown, physically and emotionally wounded. To his surprise Bianca is still in town, and still single. She's turned into a gorgeous woman, but it soon becomes clear that she's not forgiven him for breaking her heart.

When Bianca's mother, Noelle, asks him to take part in the Auckland Bridal Fair by acting as Bianca's groom for the day, he's quick to jump at the chance. Afraid of having her heart broken again, Bianca tries to fight her feelings for him, but the spark that has always been between them soon turns to a roaring flame.

Bianca's determined not to give the sexy soldier another chance to wound her. But Freddie's just as determined not to let her go…

  • Loved it

I could not put this book down. I loved the story. It was a sweet story of childhood friends that reconnect as adults and become lovers. But this isn't just a sweet story, it has some heat to it. I won't give spoilers, but I actually enjoy when an author touches on a subject that isn't usually discussed because these things do happen. In my opinion it was well written and explains so much about the character. A great story, and I loved a hint at what will be a future story. *I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc of this book.
  • So good!

Bride for a Night is a sweet, poignant, and gentle seduction of the reader as Bianca and Freddie begin to reestablish their old childhood relationship. Bianca always crushed on Freddie, but he always was aloof. Now an injured war vet, Freddie is struggling with painful memories from his childhood and his Middle East service as well as a painful back injury. Embraced by Bianca’s mom, Noelle, and put to work in the bridal shop, will Freddie be able to continue to keep Bianca in the friend zone? Serenity explores a different aspect of parental abuse as she fleshes out Freddie’s character. Series readers will appreciate the other character updates and the slow buildup bad! No spoilers! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

I loved this book and the characters! Serenity always writes a good book and she adds layers plus layers as she describes the person in every chapter and you get to know them very well!i am sure you will remember the sweet innocent Bianca and the wounded soldier Freddie. Serenity lives in the far north of New Zealand and most of her works is about that area. The people love a good time so, they are always giving party’s. It’s beautiful there, quite a few small towns & I am sure you will want to move there. This book is more then just the couple. All of Bianca’s Family is part of it watch for the twists & turns!
